While we think of IT as a part of the blockchain, AR & VR, IoT, Mobile application development, and some what part of website development, it has been contributing a great role in healing the environment as well. Information Technology, just the same as everything else has two phases. A part of the phase is what destroys the nature and world pieces by pieces and the other which acts as a shield to safeguard and heal the injuries. It is completely upon us, the species that think they are the only existing center of all living creatures in the universe. It is completely upon us to use our brain and the blessing of technology that heals or destroys our word.

So, how IT has led to destruction and how will IT help in the recovery of the destructions caused, is what we will be talking about today.

Depleting of resources

The main reference of IT is that it runs on energy. The energy that is consumed in different forms and which causes the depletion of natural resources. Lithium-ion, coal, wood, oil, and other natural gases result in the formation of energy, and that energy is what provides us electricity and other such abilities to run a machine. And as the advancement is reaching the peak the consumption is massive. I mean, if we take a common consideration about how many computers and other IT devices are running at this moment, it would obliviate our mind and its capacity to think. And the world has been running on these fossil fuels since the beginning of the human race. Won’t it be finishing it soon?

Information technology plays a huge role in human health areas such as bioinformatics, genome sequencing, biotechnology, gene engineering, maintaining DTA databases and online medical transcription in order to enhance the space of human health. Now Healthcare is doing a great job for the health industry by providing mobile application development services. In today’s time, information technology has come completely in the health industry as well.

Let’s look at what IT has already contributed to-

Electric Vehicles –

Although the idea is not completely accomplished to save energy and reduce pollution it is obviously a big try to lower the load on fossil fuel and air pollution. These vehicles are powered by big lithium-ion batteries that can run for a specific distance and needs to be charged again in terms of running it again. It will not only shift the human race from petrol and diesel to E-vehicles but also save thousands of lives by providing the features such as auto-driver and real-time assistance.

Many researchers came to the conclusion that depending upon the lithium-ion batteries will end the existence of lithium-ion resources because these batteries can not be used for such a heavy use as they don’t acquire long life heavy use nature. Therefore Solar-powered vehicles are developed. These solar-powered vehicles include a couple of plates on the roof and which keeps the flow of solar energy and makes the engine run. This is a never-ending process but replacement of solar plates is required.

And IT has played a great role in developing such technologies.

Smart Homes based on IoT –

The smart home is the trend that took place back in 2010. Most of the organizations, who offered it were earning a pile of profit as the monopoly was in action. But it is 2022 and now it’s affordable and more people can afford it.

Why smart home is on the list? Let’s be honest, does everyone actually remember to switch off their lights and other appliances while they are off to work or out of home? Does everyone act fit and active to get up and switch off the fan and light when not needed? No, we are lazy. But sometimes this act causes wastage of energy. Therefore, smart homes are the easiest and best to control whole-home without any difficulties or say laziness. If you feel sleepy or tired or lazy just say “Switch off the lights” or “ok google, I’m going to sleep” rest will be taken care of. Fans, lights, other appliances which are not in use will be shut down. Even if you want your lights to dim! Yes! That is completely possible.

There are a lot of gadgets that you can use in your day-to-day activities. From smartwatches to robot cleaners, there are as many examples you can see around you. Technology has improved health and solved the problem of food shortage.

Re-usable energy –

IT is what brings innovations. Ideas that make our future better and best. And ways of re-usable energy are in the list of innovations. Windmills, Hydro plants, Hydro turbines, Solar plates are very few among many which generate energy from the natural phenomenon and without any bad or adverse effects on the environment. Because we all know coal and other fossil fuels will be replenished over the time period.

Purifiers and Filters –

Air pollution is all over the world. Surely it could be less but it definitely exists. While Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, and Mongolia tops the air polluted countries, United States ranks at 86th. And initiatives are already up against this problem. Huge air filters and air purifiers are developed and installed in the most polluted regions of the countries. It absorbs all the impurity in the air and filters the air that is natural and better.

The next is Carbon absorber environmental technology known as ‘Direct Air Capture (DAC). It is the process of absorbing carbon dioxide directly from the air and creating a concentrated stream of CO2 for sequestration or utilization. The air is then fanned out through a filter by many large fans, where CO2 is removed. It is the future that can be used to manage emissions from multiple distributed sources, such as exhaust fumes from cars. complete-scale DAC operators are able to absorb the equivalent to carbon that is annually emitted by 250,000 average cars.

Anything shares two faces. It has the same. We just will have to work on the right side to fix what we destroyed. There is less time. There is almost no time.
