How to Practice in India after Successful Completion of MBBS in Russia?
Once the student successfully complete MBBS in Russia than the Indian medical graduate has a vast scope to practice in the country itself, to get this the medical undergraduate must have to clear the FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduates Examination). This is basically a medical licensing exam which is conducted by the National Board of examination in India. It is very essential to the medical students who study MBBS in Abroad to practice in India as a qualified doctor. The licensing exam is generally conducted in the month of June and December, twice annually. After clearing the FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduates Examination) medical licensing test, the student must need to attend a one-year mandatory internship. The internship is important for medical students to have proper hands-on experience to become a successful doctor.
After the MCI (Medical Council of India) dilution, NMC (National Medical Commission) came into the picture and created a list of guidelines. As per the new guideline, it is mandatory for both those who study MBBS in India and in Abroad to clear the FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduates Examination) which is now NEXT (National Exit Test) to get the medical license to practice in India. So from now Indian medical students who completed their MBBS in India also need to clear FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduates Examination) to practice as a doctor in the country whether it is graduated from the private or government medical college of the nation.
Eligibility Criteria of FMGE Licensing Exam
- The student who studies MBBS must be an Indian or Overseas Citizens of India.
- The student must have a medical degree from the listed university or College of NMC (National Medical Commission).
- The student who wants to appear in the FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduates Examination) must have to submit the final year clearing proof as a document.
