Natural Teas for Optimal Health

People have used teas to soothe their internal homeostasis for centuries. Soaking leaves, flowers, herbs, or stems of a plant in boiling water, called steeping, leaches the plant material’s beneficial properties and imbues it in the water.

Teas from natural sources are a wonderfully subtle way to augment your health and wellness routine. You can boost teas’ taste with sweeteners like honey, sugar, or agave or add dairy or nut milk. You can also decide the strength of your brew and how much you want.

Natural teas are an ideal way to stay healthy with a balance of hydration and natural plant essences. Here are some better-known medicinal teas from natural sources and how they can help you manage the day-to-day stressors of modern life.

Peppermint Tea

This is a traditional tea found on the shelves of most grocery stores and cafés. The moment you take a sip of peppermint tea, a cool, balanced feeling envelops you, and peppermint tea is perfect for helping to settle stomach issues like nausea and cramps.

Peppermint tea can be used for all sorts of digestive ailments, like esophageal distress, intestinal issues, and even chest pains. The great thing about this wonderful cooling tea is how many ways you can drink it since it’s delicious, hot, and cold. The brew is greenish-brown with a refreshing aroma.

Chamomile Tea

A soothing and soporific tea, chamomile is made from the small button-like flowers grown by the chamomile plant; they look like tiny daisies.

Not only will chamomile tea help relax you, but it can help you stay asleep more consistently throughout the night. A brew of chamomile tea is pale yellow and has a very gentle aroma and taste.

Golden Milk or Moon Milk

This ancient mixture is a blend of turmeric, cinnamon, cloves, peppers, and other aromatic herbs and spices. You can mix it with oat milk or dairy and sweeten it, and most enjoy it hot right before bedtime.

The turmeric will turn your moon milk into a bright orange, and it has a pleasant zing on the tongue. Some Golden Milk includes cayenne pepper for extra heat and a jolt to your system.

Kratom Tea

There are three different strains of Kratom – green, red, white – and you have to discover for yourself which one suits your lifestyle best. Most of the Kratom on the market is from red-veined Kratom, and Kratom cultivators in Southeast Asia know the specific drying process to create the particular strains.

If you are looking to boost your motivation, you should brew green or white strains of Kratom or even a mixture of both. Later in the day, when you want to be calmer, you can brew red Kratom into a robust tea to help you unwind from the day’s stressors. You can add sweeteners to Kratom tea and serve it iced or hot.

Green Tea

Health enthusiasts the world over prize green tea for its excellent benefits to the immune system. Yogis love it for the antioxidants it provides as well as its collagen-boosting benefits. When you brew yourself a cup of green tea, it has a lovely spring green or light yellow hue and an acidic aroma.

White Tea

With a superb mellow taste, white tea is a crisp way to augment your health routine.  White tea has a softer taste than green tea because it comprises the tea plant’s tender buds and blooming leaves. White tea has the same catechins and antioxidants as green tea and is an age-defying ritual prized in the East.

Oolong Tea

This ancient tea has caffeine, so it’s best to take it well before you plan to go to sleep. It brews into a dark brown liquid that you can flavor with sweeteners or augment with cream or milk. Oolong is a thermogenic tea, which means it has fat-burning properties and is made from the tea plant’s fermented leaves.

Black Tea

Green, white, black, and Oolong tea all come from the tea tree, but, much like Kratom, the leaves are dried in a specific way to produce the particular tea for which you’re looking. Black tea consists of fermented tea leaves that have also been highly oxidized, which means they have a lot of caffeine in them.

Like so many teas, black tea is highly versatile, so it can be served hot or cold, sweetened or unsweetened.

Rooibos Tea

Made from the South African red bush tea leaves, this brew is a reddish liquid that has a fruity aroma and a pleasing taste. The rooibos tea has similar antioxidant properties to green teas without the acrid taste.

Wrapping Up

If you’re looking for a discreet way to boost your health and wellness regimen, brewing natural teas is a perfect way to smooth out any rough edges. If you need a kick to start your day right, you may want to brew some Oolong or Green Kratom in the morning. For a more relaxed outlook, you may find Red Kratom or Golden Milk more your speed. Whatever you’re aiming for, you can find a tea to meet your expectations.
