We recently finish renovating our apartment. However, the kitchen did not win our liking. We think a lot about what could be put on the empty wall: a picture, a cabinet, or other decorations. We were looking at several pictures at the local home improvement store, but none of them won over. And the shelf would have been in a place where it was hard to reach. So, after a long search, I finally caught my eye on a special decoration. As soon as I saw it, I knew the wall stickers was what I was looking for. It is easy to obtain, put in either the kitchen or the living room, but even in the shower! I ordered a kitchen sticker, top-down decoration, with a nice kitchen quote in the middle. I ordered it from the internet, it arrived within a few days. When I arrived and took it out of the packaging, I was first surprised, and then reading the instructions made everything clear. The guide briefly but concisely described the parts of the sticker, how to put it and where not to put the sticker.
Where it sticks to or where it doesn’t
The wall sticker does not stick to dusty, wet, rough, lime, greasy or loose wall surfaces. Cant glued to freshly painted wall surfaces. It is important for the application, the wall surface must be cleaned with a dry cloth to remove dust and greasy dirt from the surface. You have to apply te sticker at temperatures above 5 degrees.
What to avoid whe you stick it up the wall sticker
It should not be frozen. As the adhesive will not adhere properly to the surface in the cold, or in the worst case, it may lose its adhesion. If possible, apply the sticker at room temperature, as the adhesive adheres to the surface in 1-2 days. The applied sticker can be carefully cleaned with a damp cloth, taking care not to damage the painting of the room. The sticker is completely waterproof and even completely resistant to sunlight. To affix a larger sticker, you may ask a family member or a friend for help. The stack can be sold at any time by a helping hand, not to mention how good it will be to brag about our latest creation. 🙂
Parts of the wall sticker:
When I received the sticker I was very surprised, because the sticker has 3 layers. But the description clearly explained why it has: The lowest layer is the carrier layer. This is required during production and delivery. The sticker also sticks to this. The middle layer is the wall sticker, the decoration itself. It will eventually be up on the wall as well. The top layer is called the applicator film. As the name suggests, this plays an important role when it is affixed and also helps you find the exact location of the sticker.

Applying the wall sticker
After a thorough study of the guide, I started to put the sticker on the wall, following the steps:
Preparations:
- At first I start with the wall surface. The wall was painted in the past. All I have to do is to clean from dust with a dry textile. The surface is smooth and has no waves.
- I simply placed the three layers on the wall with the translucent layer facing up. I fixed it with masking tape and see from a distance how well it fits into place. Fortunately, this move also went smoothly.
- I have marked the corners of the sticker with a pencil, so it will be easier to put it on
- After that I took off the sticker and then carefully smoothed the layers with the plastic card. I started in the middle and then moved towards the edges of the sticker. I did this on the table, this operation requires a flat surface, which can be either a table or a surface. This is necessary for the applicator film to adhere properly to the sticker.
Applying:
- We can now remove the bottom layer of the smaller size sticker and then place it on the wall surface using the plastic card. You may have to start at one of the corners and then gradually move to the opposite side. Because my wall sticker was larger, I put the sticker back on the wall. We can even glue down the heels, but now comes the trick. Take out the masking tape and glue the sticker across the shorter side. Fix it as much as possible. Starting from one side of the wall sticker and peel off the substrate all the way to the masking tape. You can also use scissors for this, then smooth the wall sticker back onto the wall surface with the plastic card. When done, remove the masking tape and then the remaining media. Now smooth the entire sticker on the wall.
- We can now carefully remove the transparent applicator film from the wall as well. This operation also requires attention, as the sticker is not completely attach to the wall. Some parts may still remain on the top foil. In this case, smooth the sticker back on the wall and then repeat the process.
- Now there is only the wall sticker on the wall. It is advisable to smooth the sticker on the wall again so that we can achieve better adhesion.
Conclusion
With these few simple steps, I was able to stick the wall sticker. Although the adhesive is described to adhere. Completely we have to wait 1-2 days for the best adhesion. Yet you can use a wet cloth to remove any dirt. You must be take care to ensure that moisture does not touch the wall, as this may damage it.
